Namata Village
Namata is a traditional village located in West Sabu sub-district. In the past, this village was the main settlement of the descendant of Ie Miha, the ancestor of Sabunese. Now, this village is the residence of the priest of ancestral religion (jingitiu) Deo Rai and his followers. In this place, you will see some large megaliths revealing a part of the past of Sabunese. Lobohede Beach
Lobohede beach is located di Mehara district in the west of Sabu Island, about 10 km from Seba, the capital of Sabu Raijua regency. If you are in Sabu, this white, sandy beach is an ideal place for swimming, diving and sunbahing.
Pedoa Dance
Pedoa is a circle dance performed at the end of rainy season in Bangawilu month, with the purpose to call the ancestors through prayers. Everyone is welcomed to participate for this dance. The leader of the dancers stands at the center of the circle, sings a ritual and traditional song related to past event or ancestor. This song is sung along the dance. Each dance has basket filled with the grains of the new harvest attached to the foot. This dance can last in 30 minutes.
Ledo Dance
This dance is usually performed during the funeral or mourning of a death person which last nine days and nights. Gongs and drums are beaten during this dance. This dance is danced in pairs and rows. The female dancers wear their heirloom for example gold earrings and belts, ivory bracelets, and ikat cloths. The men with their swords demonstrate their skills to impress the female partners.
Kelaba Madja
There in the earth of Raihawu, there are cliffs and giant rocks with natural carvings which are very amazing. This beautiful charm seemed to combine creative design with relief and gradations of mixed color of reddish and brown although without human intervention, the attraction of the object spelled out to be perfect especially when the sunlight beam illuminated the area so-called “kelaba madja”. It refers to two words with different meanings.
